As the philanthropic arm of OnPath Credit Union, the OnPath Foundation works as a catalyst in creating opportunities for individuals and families to build long-term financial stability and security, and to create opportunities for future generations to thrive. 

In the 2025-2026 school year, OnPath Foundation will offer a total of $40,000 in the form of twenty (20) $2,000 scholarships. 

DEADLINES

  • All applications, essays, transcripts, and letters of recommendation are due no later than 11:59pm on April 30, 2025 and must be submitted via this online form OR via email to: scholarship@onpathfoundation.com 

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

  • Membership:  Applicants must be a current OnPath Credit Union or Louisiana Federal Credit Union member or be willing to become a member (open an account) upon acceptable of award.
  • Academic Status:  Applicants must be a graduating high school senior pursuing higher education.
  • Residency:  Applicants must be a resident of Louisiana. OnPath CU employees and their immediate family are ineligible.
  • Educational Institution:  Applicants must be accepted into a Louisiana accredited two-year or four-year college/university, trade school, or vocational school for the 2025 Fall semester.
  • Community Involvement:  Applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service, volunteer work, or extracurricular activities.
  • GPA: Applicants must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Application Form:  Applicants must submit the online OnPath Credit Union Foundation application form.
  • Personal Essay:  In 750 words or less, applicants must submit an essay addressing one of the following topics:
    • Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
    • Describe a “defining moment” in your life that has changed you for the better. How did you feel? How did this situation define who you are today?
    • Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
    • Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
  • Proof of Residency:  Applicants must be a resident of Louisiana. OnPath CU employees and their immediate family are ineligible.
  • Educational Institution:  Applicants must provide letter of acceptance in an accredited institution.
  • Transcripts:  Applicants must provide most recent official transcripts showing Senior classification.
  • Recommendation Letters:  Applicants must provide 2 letters of recommendation (1 from current school official and 1 from community member).
  • Testimonials & Photo:  Applicants must provide 3 testimonials demonstrating their character and qualifications for the scholarship and one photo for communications purposes if selected.
